May 6th – Terrace Room, Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale
Doors 7.30pm, 8pm start Tix – TBC
David Gibb is a 20 year old acoustic folk artist from Derbyshire whose music has been described as “Modern English folk with a witty wordy charm and a bit of an uplifting infectious feel” (Organ Music Magazine). Growing up firmly attached to the Derby music scene, David honed his skills playing and touring in local bands and after self releasing his debut EP in November 2007, he set about piecing together a group of close friends to support him on the road and in the studio.
Coinciding with the release of his long awaited CD (Easter 2011) – ‘There are birds in my garden’, David Gibb and the Pony Club perform from their eclectic range of songs in this intimate space.
Supported by Lucy Ward – Lucy Ward is the rising star of the folk scene, leaving her mark wherever she goes with her expressive performance and infectious passion for folk music.
The 20 year old from Derby started out modestly at a local folk club aged just 14, now after six years of performance experience under her belt she is playing at folk clubs and festivals all over the country, including the esteemed Nettle bed Folk Club, Priddy, Big Session and Shrewsbury Festivals.
